Reports to: Vice President of Engineering

    Location: Santa Clara, CA


    • Working on leading edge ACDC and DCDC power solutions targeting LED applications
    • Working on system level IC product definition, architecture, system simulation and verification
    • Design, implement and test high-switching frequency, high-power density, advanced ACDC and DCDC power converter on LED lighting field, computing and other consumer electronic applications
    • Define the product architecture, simulation based on Spice model, MatLab or other tools, write product specifications, working with design team on IC delivery
    • Write datasheets, technical articles and design tips, application notes and evaluation board designs

    • MSEE; PhD EE
    • 3+ years power semiconductor experience
    • Strong knowledge of the control algorithm derivation and implementation with the fundamental knowledge of power electronics circuit design by using compensation of the loop, power MOSFETs, gate drivers etc.
    • Knowledge of electrical power engineering and industrial strength on LED lighting power supply and driver, PFC, ACDC converter, DCDC converter
    • Strong knowledge of power electronic circuit design, understanding power component characteristics
    • Knowledge and experience designing and optimization of transformers and magnetic integrations for lower leakage inductance with EMI shielding
    • Advanced mathematics, ability to extract the essential equations from a physical/electronics phenomenon and to model it with theoretical tools using PSpice/MatLab is an additional advantage
    • Hands-on experience in high voltage power application, directly debug evaluation boards and capture experimental waveforms from bench test.
    • Experience solving EMI issues
    • Familiar with various power converter topologies and stabilization of closed loop control systems
    • Provide technical support such as reference designs, write data sheets, give design guidelines and solving problems in customer applications
