Overview
The Data Analytics Engineer collaborates closely with other members of the Data Science & Analytics Team as well as the Software Engineering Team to manipulate, transform, augment, and extract intelligence from disparate data streams generated by meteorological sensors and numeric models. In
this capacity, a successful candidate will develop tools, data processing workflows, visualizations, and
algorithms to be directly offered as cloud-based data services for customers as well as utilized by
internal stakeholders for various product development projects related to wind and solar resource data. Contributions will consist of methods to detect various sensor and data product failure modes,
phenomena/feature detection, the development of empirical calibration methodology, and the design
and extraction of sensor and model performance verification metrics. To execute these duties, this
position requires and emphasis on python programming skills, analytical data processing, scientific
investigation, large dataset manipulation, the ability to build code-based workflows that extract
actionable and meaningful insights from high-dimensional data.
The Data Analytics Engineer is a full-time position in the engineering department and reports to the
Lead Data Scientist. This person will work in partnership across our client to achieve goals of the
department that are in line with the company strategic plan and will embrace the high standards of NRG ethics and core values.
